The Honda Accord is simply designed to be a winner. The Honda Accord has won the Car and Driver 10 Best Cars award for 2008 - a record 22 times since the award started in 1983! Car and Driver magazine has also named Accord the Number-One Four-Cylinder Mainstream Sedan after conducting a series of thorough tests. Furthermore, The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has named the Accord Sedan a 2008 "Top Safety Pick."
Car and Driver examined a wide selection of categories, including chassis, powertrain and driving experience. The Accord received Number-One Four-Cylinder Mainstream Sedan award for its highest-revving engine, the most competent suspension, and the most ergonomic interior. According to the magazine, the all-new 2008 Accord offers everything that makes it great and in a larger, more powerful package.
A winner on safety aspect too
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has acknowledged the Honda Accord Sedan as a 2008 "Top Safety Pick" based on several elaborate tests such as a frontal-offset crash test, side crash test and rear-impact test. Each winner was also required to have electronic stability control available as either a standard or optional device. Vehicle Stability Assist also known as electronic stability control, is a standard feature on the 2008 Honda Accord.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the 2008 Honda Accord Sedan five stars (its highest rating) in driver and front passenger crash tests. These frontal crash-test ratings stand testimony to the advanced safety engineering that comes standard on every Accord model.
It remains to be seen if the achievements of the 2008 model will serve as the basis for the coming 2009 model, which is already in stock here at Manly Honda. But if you follow history, then the Accord seems primed and ready for another award winning year.
